Conceptualization of “Zoology or Animal Lore” by Ernst Haeckel (1866: 238) and translation by us. The inlays “Ontogenie / Phylogenie” are from the pediment of Phyletisches Museum Jena, founded by Ernst Haeckel in 1907. Ontogeny/Embryology and Phylogeny/Paleontology are highlighted. Note that, different to the lecture presentation (Fig. 5), both are equally ranking as a sub discipline of “zoogeny”.
