As of April 17, 2026, Vertebrate Zoology rescinds this Editorial Expression of Concern:
A new living species of the genus Ctenomys (Rodentia: Ctenomyidae) from central-western Argentina
The Editor-in-Chief would like to alert the readers that concerns have been raised regarding the validity of the cited research permit RES ANP EX-483484-2020 for the research conducted in Alvarado-Larios et al. (2024: https://doi.org/10.3897/vz.74.e115242), published 8 March 2024.
The authors have failed so far to provide a valid research permit allowing the capture of Ctenomyidae rodents or the sacrifice of specimens of any species. Readers are advised that further consequences are pending if this issue will not be resolved retroactively and that the article might be ultimately retracted.
